Report talk say Saheed pour petrol on Esther before him set fire on top her because of wahala wey dem get. Di suspect dey for Utako Division of di FCT police.
Saheed, wey don divorce and get three children from him former marriage, don deny say him burn am on purpose. Di Police Commissioner for FCT, Olatunji Disu, confirm di incident and talk say him men rescue Saheed from di mob wey wan lynch am.
Di two of dem bin dey fight when Saheed pour petrol from a bottle on Esther, then use lighter set her ablaze. Saheed talk say di petrol spill by mistake when dem dey fight.
Saheed wey come from Ibadan, Oyo State, say di matter no be intentional. He beg to still marry Esther. He explain say on December 29, he give Esther money for church offering and to buy food, but when he later find am, she dey drink ogogoro. Dem quarrel and di petrol spill, which lead to di fire.
Di police still dey investigate and Saheed go face court after dem finish di investigation.
